Artist, creator, faery specimen maker

Australian fantasy artist and creator of magickal items & oddities.

I’m inspired by nature, myth and magick.

I love the whimsical and unsettling.. cheeky faeries and curious dragons to sinister sirens and decaying specimens. Some of my images have a subtle dark twist, and occasionally you’ll see references to my favourite books and films. My work reflects all the odd and eclectic things I like to surround myself with, a menagerie of magick, so to speak.

My preferred medium is watercolour on paper, then adding pencil or ink to achieve the desired result – although I insist I’m not always completely sure what I’m doing, it’s always a bit of an experiment. I also enjoy working with acrylics on canvas, polymer clay, textiles, jewellery making and photography. I just follow my inspirations and try new things along the way..

I made my very first Faery Specimen in 2013, inspired by the Derbyshire Mummified Fairy Hoax. These have since become an ongoing series, each numbered as I go, with now over 100 specimens adopted worldwide.

Currently I am part of an artist’s collective called Leaf Studios & Gallery, located in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, in the leafy township of Kallista, Victoria. Here I share studio space with five other artists, including an oracle. Together we manage and stock a curious little shop, art gallery and ocassionally host exhibitions and workshops.
