I am obsessed with Ferris Wheel Press inks.
So far I have 10 in my collection, I’m not stopping anytime soon and you can’t make me. What do I love about these inks? I thought you’d never ask, let me hyperfixate.
Firstly is how I use them. I mostly paint with watercolours, so I use these as such. Usually in backgrounds where I can experiment and allow the colours to bleed and make their magick – but I also play around with them in my detailed work. I have some fountain pens I use the inks in too which is kind of how they’re meant to be used, I guess.
The colour range.. there are SO many colours, with new and limited editions added regularly.
While you can get single coloured transparent inks, most of the inks I own are layered with several colours and have shimmer. As the colour bleeds out you will begin to see the hues separate into the most delightful gradient of chaotic pigment and I cannot get enough. I cannot!
One of my personal favourites is ‘Down the Rabbit Hole – Blushing Mushroom’ which is a delicious dark smokey purple to begin with. By adding water the colours then seep out into a subtle pink and a touch of blue, in a mottled mess of gorgeousness with a dusted layer of bronze shimmer.
These photos do not do the result justice but you can see what I’m going on about.
But wait.. there’s more.
The packaging.
If you know me then you know I’m a sucker for amazing packaging. I can be sold almost anything if the packaging is good. ESPECIALLY STATIONARY! Each bottle size is a different design and the box they come in is an artwork in itself. I’m really sad that I tried to be all efficient and discarded the boxes after opening, but I severely regret this decision and cry about it at night.
There are many other delightful accessories such as fountain pens, sketchbooks, leather bags and a plethora of other things I need in my life.
Surely it can’t get better than this, but holy smokes, it can.
Let me tell you about the REWARDS program.
Usually I hate rewards programs and accuse them of being scams and tell them to die in a fire (I’m looking at you big supermarkets) However, this one is surprisingly good. Like, really good.
You score points just for signing up, following on socials, every purchase, points for your birthday, and points for reviews. THEN you can redeem the points for a number of rewards. Gift cards, MYSTERY inks and pens, special edition items, free postage.. and.. they’re accessable. Possibly because I’ve bought so much already, but if you become addicted to these inky bottles of goodness then you’ll rack up reward points in no time.
Now if you’re still reading then I’ve managed to tap into your curiosity you’re probably dying to know how you can get a $20 gift card. Well fear not my friends, find yours right here:
While this is not a paid advertisement I do get (as you by now have probably guessed) bonus points for giving out these free gift cards, so it’s a win win.
